One way to make me look like a borrower is to photograph me whilst treating Chief, the rising 3 year old Shire!
Chief had surgery on an OCD (Osteochondrosis dissecans) lesion in the left hock about 8 months ago. OCD is a condition that affects the development of growing cartilage and often causes lameness that can only be resolved with surgery. We are treating to monitor and ensure he continues to grow and develop as symmetrically as possible despite this weakness in his left hind.
He has also become very anxious of people doing things to him since all his veterinary treatment but as you can see from these photos, he decided quite quickly that I'm actually alright!! Love him a real gentle giant
