Did you know, most musculoskeletal issues start as subtle compensation patterns?
- A slight hesitation when jumping
- A shortened stride
- Falling wide when turning in one direction
- A slight weight shift
Dogs are masters of disguise and by the time they are in obvious discomfort, they have often been compensating for weeks or even months!
- These subtle changes can lead to
- Muscular imbalance Joint strain and injury
- Decreased performance in sporting and working dogs
- Chronic pain and discomfort
At Jenny Lewis Animal Wellness, we look for those early, subclinical signs. Using gentle McTimoney Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques and targeted exercises, we work towards correcting compensation patterns to restore balance and improve movement quality and comfort.
- Notice your dog's posture and movement
- Do they sit square or with one limb out to one side?
- Can they stand still and square?
- Are they reluctant to jump or take the stairs?
- Do they move with their quarters held to one side? Are they more lethargic than usual?
If you notice any of these symptoms or anything that seems unusual for your dog then it might be time to get them checked out.
