Yesterday was a slightly different day when I went to visit Ellaria the Alpaca!
I've had a few inquiries about treating Alpacas over the years but this was the first time I'd actually had the pleasure of treating one. As a profession, we are certainly starting to see more, so I had a chat with a colleague who I know has treated quite a few, and went armed with a few tips which I was most grateful for
Ellaria has been struggling to get up after laying down and when she does get up and walk, has been displaying a weak and shuffly hindlimb gait. She's had numerous vet investigations but nothing conclusive had been found. After speaking with the vet and getting all her medical history I was wished the best of luck as she had them all stumped
I certainly found enough musculoskeletal issues that could explain her symptoms so we're all hoping that treatment may be the answer for her!
I will keep you all updated on her progress
